The U/13 team recieved the League Winners Trophy from Alan Isherwood, President of the Craven Junior League at the League's Annual Presentation Event on Wednesday evening at Victoria Hall, Keighley.
The team won the title by 1 point from joint runners up, Silsden and BD3 United with a squad of only 13 players.
Congratulations to:
Reece Simpson, Drew Calver, Callum Collier, Declan Consoli, Sam Loftus, Casey Dowthwaite, Aaron Dickson, Max Rowley, George Brown, Jack Cryer, Zeeshan Ali, Robert Carberry and captain and Player of the Year Zac Storr.
ps The boys narrowly failed to make it a League and Cup Double when they lost 1-0 to Silsden in the Cup Final played yesterday at Valley Parade.
Silsden started well and took an erarly lead but the boys fought back and dominated the second half. Despite coming close on several occasions - notably Robert Carberry''s terrific shot that came back off the bar, Oaks were unable to find the equaliser and Silsden held on to win 1-0. The boys would like to thank everyone who came along and gave fantastic support to the team.
The boys really enjoyed the experience of playing at Valley Parade, and we hope to see more Oakworth teams playing in Cup Finals at this venue in the future
